Dereck's obituary

Dereck Michael Paccarelli, 54, of Palo Alto, CA, formerly of Maricopa, AZ and Asbury, IA, passed away suddenly Sep. 11, 2024 at his home.

Born March 17, 1970 in Chicago Heights, IL, he was the son of Gaetano Paccarelli of Watkins Glen, NY, and the late Christine "CJ" (Pinkney) Paccarelli of Maricopa, AZ. Dereck lived out his early childhood in the suburbs around Chicago, before moving in his Freshman Year of High School to Asbury, Iowa.

Upon his completion of high school, Dereck began his training as a plumber, working as an apprentice around Iowa, later earning his license and doing freelance work as a plumber around Iowa and Wisconsin.

In 1997, Dereck relocated to Maricopa, AZ with his mother, aiding her through her many ailments and battle with ALS, all the while staying employed as a plumber to help out the family financially.

With his mothers' death in 2007, Dereck took this time to enjoy the outdoors and travel, visiting many state and national parks, even going as far as Sweden!

Dereck was a sweet man always willing to help out others, right up until the end.

Left to carry on Dereck's memory are his father and stepmother, Guy (Kay) Paccarelli of Watkins Glen, NY, his sister Dee-Anne Faber (Gregory) of Phoenix, AZ, his niece Twyla June Faber of New York, his nephews Thomas and Tyler Faber, both of Mesa, AZ, great-nephew Cadogan Faber, as well as many maternal aunts, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, as well as his paternal grandparents, Rocco and Mollie Paccarelli, and maternal grandparents Anthony & TJ Pinkney.
