Dennis's obituary

Dennis Lee Sorensen, aged 63, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on October 2, 2024, with his boots on and while doing what he loved. Born on April 28, 1961, in Audubon, Iowa, he moved to Colorado in 1981 and married the love of his life in 1986. He was a farrier, horse trainer, family man, and storyteller beloved by many. He will be remembered for his many admirable qualities, including his uncompromising attention to detail, his dedication to his family, his ready smile and infectious laughter, and, most of all, his kindness and generosity to those around him.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ember, brother Doug, sisters Shari and Rena, son Tyrel, daughter-in-law Lacey, granddaughter Zaaley, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends by whom he will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Joan, and best friend, Guy Vernon.

A burial and service to celebrate his life will be held at his acreage on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at noon with a potluck reception held nearby afterward. For the address or additional details, you can call or text 303-587-0030. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you keep Dennis’s generous spirit alive through selfless acts of kindness made to friends, family, neighbors, or strangers in need.
