Background
Dennis' grandson Garrett (Denise & Corey's son), now a grown man with two kids of his own, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age 15. He is doing very well, due to both his desire to stay healthy and the medical technology available today. Several other Sigmon family members also have Type 1 Diabetes and Dennis' niece Susie Sigmon passed away from T1D in her mid-20s before some of the current medications and technology was available. JDRF conducts research to find a cure and supports those with T1D.
