Dennis's obituary

Dennis Matthew Radosevich

October 16, 1958 – April 25, 2023

Dennis Matthew Radosevich was born on October 16, 1958 in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Matija and Angeline (Widovich) Radosevich . He spent his childhood running around Wyandotte neighborhoods with his brother Steve, building go karts, riding his bike and playing hockey at the Yack Arena. In high school, he continued to play hockey as well as football and rowed for the Wyandotte Boat Club.

Besides earning a Hotel and Restaurant Management degree at Michigan State University, he was involved in many campus activities: he helped run Pop Entertainment and was Assistant to the Dean of Activities. One of his most memorable summer jobs was bartending at The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island during the filming of the movie, Somewhere in Time. His 15 minutes of fame came when he was chosen as an extra for the movie. You can spot his handsome face off Christopher Reeve’s left shoulder during the theater scene.

Dennis began his career at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn and shortly thereafter, moved to New York City where he worked at the St Regis Hotel and The Wine Bar in Soho. During that time, he was fortunate to spend three glorious weeks in Europe where he met his Serbian relatives. He was proud of his Serbian heritage and enjoyed celebrating customs, especially Slava. Eventually, Dennis switched careers, moved back to Michigan and began working in the IT Sales world.

Dennis’s three children, Natalie Ostrom (Brian), Ryan Radosevich, and Willow (chocolate lab) were his greatest joy. He and his family enjoyed wonderful vacations together. Their many travels took them to Hawaii, Lex Cheneaux Islands, Jamaica, and Florida, usually someplace tropical.

Dennis is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Rich Jeric, and his nephew, Karl Liverance. Surviving family members are his children, Natalie (Brian) and Ryan, his siblings, Donna Theisen (Don), Pat Liverance (Warren), Steve Radosevich (Camille), his nephews, Mark Theisen (Theresa), Scott Theisen (Amy), TJ Jeric (Laura), Daniel Radosevich, Matthew Radosevich, Max Liverance, and many great- nephews, great-nieces and cousins.

One of the hallmarks of Dennis’s rich life was the making and keeping of good friends. He found every opportunity to bring his friends together and just have fun.

Finding joy and humor in every situation has always been Dennis’s philosophy. He has been an inspiration to us all, a perfect example of how to approach life with positivity and hope. A quote from Dennis on April 11, 2023: “God put me on this planet to make other people happy.”
