Personal note from Dennis's Family

My dad suffered much through out his life, he was a Veteran so the hardships of the wars caused him to be more harsh at times then I think he meant to, however, the memories of all the times he made us laugh with his little silly jokes or come backs when someone would say something silly just filled my heart so full. He was a hard worker raising five girls with his beautiful wife of almost 50 years, Nancy, who sadly left us in 2016. My Dad was outgoing, in that he was pleasant to people he met in stores or while out and about, could strike up a conversation like he had known the person his whole life. There were good and bad times like with any family but I will forever be grateful he was my dad. He was also a grandfather and a great grandfather.

Updates

Update from June 13, 2024

I wrote this poem for my dad:
Dear Dad
The birds they fly high in the sky
Not a care in the world or sadness with goodbye
Alas some days I wish it were so
For us down here as we watch a loved one go
The tears they flow, they come and go
The laughter from memories we just don't know
The day we said goodbye to you
Reminded us that life can pass by through and through
Dad, you'll always hold a place in my heart
But now you're with mom, never to part
The good times, the bad times, every family has them
Please let go of the guilt now that you're with Him
I'll always remember those times you made me laugh
Even the times you were harsh and talked a paragraph
Thank you for being our Dad here on Earth
Now's your time for a total rebirth
I know you did your best by us
I will forever be grateful and not make a fuss
To my Dad in Heaven whom we'll miss so much
Hug mom for us, give her a soft gentle touch
