Dennis Darwin Olson
September 12, 1945 – January 14, 2026
Dennis Darwin Olson, age 80, of Monroe, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on January 14, 2026.
Born on September 12, 1945, in Snohomish, WA, to Darwin Olson and Mary Catherine Strom Olson, Dennis was a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest. He was a 1964 graduate of Monroe High School and later earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in 1981. Dennis served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Dennis was a man of quiet depth and keen intellect. Known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, he had a deep appreciation for the humanities and was an insatiable reader. When he wasn't immersed in a book, Dennis could be found tending to his garden, following sports, or appreciating classic cars.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Darwin Olson, and his brothers, Brett Olson and Jeffery Olson.
He is survived by his mother, Mary C. Olson; his devoted wife, Susanne Olson; his sons, Eric (Jackie) Olson and Aaron Olson; his brother, Brad C. Olson; and his two cherished grandchildren, Aspen and Wyatt Olson.
A memorial service with reception to follow will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST at Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 16530 Avondale Road Northeast, Woodinville, WA 98077. Pastor Malcolm Brown will officiate.
