Dennis's obituary
Life, as we know it, always has ups and downs. Drugs and alcohol consumed his life, resulting in broken relationships and separation from his family for more than ten years. Love, forgiveness, and mercy overcame the addictions and the brokenness, reuniting him with his wife and kids. He remarried his bride on April 15, 1989. His life completely changed; the family became his priority. He was able to watch his children grow, marry, and have children of their own. He promised to be a better grandparent then he was a parent, and he certainly kept that promise.
Dennis enjoyed being called ”Grumpy Grumpa” by his eight grandchildren, Leticia (Jason) Hoehn, Dylan Meyer, Salina (Ben) Sisco, Daron McNutt, Jeana Meyer, Gloria McNutt, Ellana McNutt, and Mirisa McNutt. And one great-grandchild; Eva Hoehn, he also was able to hear the news of another great-grandchild to arrive at the end of the year.
Dennis had a great love and talent for art. In his younger years, he played in a band called “Generation Gap.” Even in his employment, he found ways to use his creativity working at D & A construction and later New Enterprise as a Road Construction Foreman. He retired in 2017 and devoted more time to his art through acrylic paintings, winning several awards.
He lived a full life with much love and joy. He always knew how to make his family laugh and make them feel the love that he had for them. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Naomi (Heise) and Robert McNutt, and his brother Richard “Dick” McNutt. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and his siblings Larry (Vickie) McNutt and Deborah Upshaw. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, June 13, 2020.
