One night at 1:00 in the morning Dennis and I were out and about roaming around looking for trouble. We ended up in an area of Westminster where they were building new houses and spotted a big caterpillar bulldozer, with the keys in the ignition!! We crawled into the driver's seat, started it up, and ended up driving it into a ditch. Well, someone must have heard the roar of the diesel engine because two cop cars showed up, and escorted us home. I don't know what happened with Dennis but I can imagine his father was not to pleased. With my police escort, it was rather embarrassing; my Dad opened the door in his BAGGY fruit of the loom underwear!
I got a dressing down but I could see that my Dad thought it was kind of cool, I mean, he stole cars with his friends!
Once we were on Dennises 305 scrambler racing around at night doing stupid shit when again the police showed up and tried to pull us over. Dennis gunned the bike into the dirt roads we knew so well, raced into the moonlit night laughing our asses off!
I always loved Dennis because he broke the rules with fearless abandon, and I will be forever thankful that part of my youth was shared with him.
