Dennis's obituary

Dennis Hooker, 67, of Tampa, FL, passed away on August 12, 2023. He was born on October 4, 1955, in Arlington, VA, to the late Bud Hooker and Betty Kevorkian.

Dennis was a loving husband to Susan (nee Magnusson) Hooker and a devoted father to Jennifer (Jason) Johnson, Karen (Justin) Bassett, and Jacquelyn (Raleigh) Holler. He was also a proud grandfather to Eric Hooker, Pierce Johnson, Katherine Bassett, Amelia Trapani, James Trapani, and Colette Holler. Dennis is survived by his brothers Mike Hooker and Ken Hooker.

Dennis lived life to the fullest and had a passion for cooking. He poured his heart and soul into every dish, delighting in sharing his culinary expertise with others. His love for cooking extended beyond his own kitchen, as he enjoyed teaching and watching others grow in their knowledge and love of all things culinary. Dennis dreamed big and chased those dreams with everything he had in him. His life philosophy was summarized by a favorite quote "If your dream doesn't scare you, it isn't big enough."

In addition to various hobbies, Dennis served in the US Marines. His military service was an important part of his life, and he carried the values and discipline he acquired during his time in the Marines throughout his life.

Throughout his professional career, Dennis held various senior management roles in enterprise IT sales. His expertise and leadership were widely respected, and he made lasting contributions to the industry.

A memorial service to celebrate Dennis's life will be held on October 21, 2023, at Hosanna Lutheran Church in St. Charles, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dennis's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Dennis Hooker will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of passion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire and uplift those who follow in his footsteps. He has found eternal peace in the arms of our loving Savior.
