On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, Dennis Phillip Holder, 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Shawnee, Ok after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Dennis "Pops" Holder was born on May 29, 1953 to Roy and Bernadine Holder in Hawthorne, Ca. His family moved to Coalgate, Ok before the end of his first year and bought a farm.
Always quick with a joke and eager to make people smile. In the spring of '82 he captured the heart of Janet "Tootie" Daniels. Little did he know he would spend the rest of his life with this woman. In a whirlwind romance they were married in July of the same year. Later adopting her twin sons, Shannon and Shawn.
Aside from family, he had two loves in his life. He loved jumping on the Harley on a beautiful day and letting the wind blow through his hair. He also loved his dog, Boo. He took Boo pretty much everywhere. It was rare to see one and not the other.
Preceding him in death are his parents Roy and Bernadine Holder, his brother Billy Holder and his son James Shawn Holder.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years JD "Tootie" Holder, his son John Shannon Holder, his stepson Stacy Ryan Tuttle, daughter in law Amanda Knoth-Holder and his 9 grand children Haley, Gage and Nikki Holder, Isaiah and Noah Knoth, Stacey, Emily, Ethan an Carly Tuttle.
There will be a memorial service held from 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday August 12, 2018 in the banquet room of First National Bank in Shawnee, Ok on the corner of Union and MacArthur on the west side of the building. Officiating will be long time family friend John Souders. In lieu of flowers he would prefer donations be made to Downed Bikers Association.
