Dennis's obituary
Dennis Harrington, Navy Retired CPO, beloved husband, father, friend, and musician, passed away at home on March 26, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on December 7, 1954, in California, Dennis brought easy friendliness, sincerity, a warm smile, song and music to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.
With a deep passion for music, Dennis was known for his skill as a bass player and singer. He was a part of several bands since the 70’s, including North Star out of California, Navy gigs during his military career, and local rock bands in both RI and Mass, and often played for fundraising events as well. In addition to his love for music, Dennis enjoyed military history, early American history, discussing local and world politics, and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He was a knowledgeable and fun-loving travel companion with a keen sense of direction and preference for backroad exploration.
Dennis, retired CPO, served 22 years in the US Navy, then went on to work for the great folks at SeaCorp of Middletown RI, and most recently Cox Electric of North Kingston RI as a hardworking and dedicated generator technician, who was well liked by colleagues and his many Generac customers. He was a Gold Star parent of the late Sgt. Kyle Harrington, US Army.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Jodi Martineau of Cranston, daughter Elizabeth Harrington of Fall River, loving stepdaughters Alyssa Martineau and Paige Martineau of Rhode Island, daughter in-law Faith (late Kyle Harrington) of Swansea, and two beautiful grandchildren. He was the son of the late Fred and Irene Harrington of San Andreas California and brother of the late Janette Collins (Percy) of San Andreas, California.
His gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
We love you Dennis. You will be with us in spirit, music, and the beautiful memories of our life together. Always.
