Dennis's obituary

Dennis Leroy Galford, 81, of Occidental, California, passed away on May, 27, 2020 from complications with Multiple Sclerosis, which he lived with for 60 years.

Dennis was born on February 3rd, 1939 to Leroy and Hildreth in Pocohontas county, West Virginia. After graduating from Allan Park, Michigan in 1957, he went on to study business and marketing at Ferris State in Big Rapids, Michigan.

After graduation, he landed his first job as a sales representative for Texaco Inc. in Taylor, Michigan. In 1968, Dennis met Ellen, and they wed in 1972, going on to have 3 amazing children, Harmony, Damien, and Sam.

Dennis was a fun loving supportive father, determined to give his family an amazing life, full of the opportunities he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he always demonstrated. He was unendingly proud of Harmony, Damien, and Sam and always did his best to instill great values in them. Dennis's priority in life was to spend as much time as possible with his family and make whatever personal sacrifices he could to give them a life full of love and valuable experiences.

Dennis was also a passionate nature and spent years traveling North America with Ellen, camping, fishing, and backpacking in some of the most beautiful places in the world. While traveling Canada for 6 months they only slept indoors for 2 nights. Before settling in the Sonoma County they lived in the Sunset District of San Francisco for two and a half years, 1970 - 1973.

Anyone who knew Dennis knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Dennis was predeceased by sister, Laura June Galford, Hildreth and Leroy Galford. He is survived by wife Ellen Galford, Harmony Galford, Damien Galford, and Sam Galford.

The family requests that all cards are sent to PO Box 867, Occidental CA, 96465. There will be a celebration of life after Covid-19 epidemic is controlled and gathering is acceptable.
