Already a year. Thinking about you MJ and family as you remember Dennis. What an impact he had on so many.  Hugs, Lou 💜

The stories keep streaming in about how Dennis has made them feel special and how he touched their hearts. My wife Maryam and I feel so blessed to have been adopted by the extended family known as “The Dennis Show”.

I’d also like to share an experience that I shared with Dennis. Some fellow singers known as “the better looking Willie Nelson” aka Terry Kent and “The people’s choice” aka Dennis Haggerty formed a quartet along with Dennis and I.

We had a great time practicing the Highwaymen by a group of the same name. We each had our part to play and Terry was the highwayman, I was the sailor, Dennis Haggerty was the Dam builder and Dennis was the Pilot.

I find solace in not only the words Dennis sang (that continue to play in my memories again and again) but how Dennis gave the words life.

Here is the part of the song that Dennis sang:

I fly a starship

Across the Universe divide

And when I reach the other side

I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can

Perhaps I may become a highwayman again

Or I may simply be a single drop of rain

But I will remain

I'll be back again and again and again and again and again and again

Dennis had a serendipitous idea to keep repeating the last words of the song “again and again” at the end of our performance; as we walked back to our seats. Indeed Dennis will forever remain in our hearts; and in our memories he’ll be back again and again and again and again and again and again …

I am sharing my story about how I first met Dennis.  My husband Jerry Cellilo and myself were first visiting Trilogy as perspective buyers.  Dennis happened to be holding a Karaoke party outside on the back patio of the clubhouse.  I was given a free glass of wine from the bar and sat down to listen to Dennis host the lineup of singers.  I knew right then this was a huge plus to us buying a house at Trilogy, because I wanted to be a part of that lineup!  Dennis was so charismatic and was a great singer himself!  Later as residents of Trilogy, we often practice with Dennis in his garage for Karaoke performances, and he became one of my most cherished friends at Trilogy, which is why I miss him terribly.  Sometimes at the clubhouse I think for a minute that I see him.  I'm quite sure his spirit is still here!

Dennis and I took a trip up to Seattle to close down the Seattle office of Shared Communications.  This trip was monumental for my career.  Dennis spent the trip talking through my career, ideas on the future of business, and encouraging me to think bigger for my future career.    During this trip he encouraged me to learn deeply about telecom and to learn from others.  However more important, he demonstrated how selfless sharing and mentoring others can change their lives.

When we first moved to Trilogy, I wandered up to the clubhouse one evening and stumbled upon a karaoke night. I didn’t know anyone yet, but I was drawn to the energy in the room. I struck up a conversation with a kind woman named MJ, who explained how sign-ups worked. She had such a warm smile—it made me realize this wasn’t just karaoke; it was something special.

I was looking for my new friend Miriam when, unbeknownst to me, her husband David had already put my name on the list. The song? Someone to Watch Over Me. I don’t even remember choosing it, but I had sung it before. So, I stepped up, sang my heart out, and nervously chattered between the refrains.

That was my first real introduction to what Dennis had built—a place where people felt welcome, where music wasn’t just entertainment but connection. He made sure everyone had a chance to share their voice, and in doing so, he created a community.

Dennis, you were more than just the man behind the mic. You were the heartbeat of those nights, the steady presence that made it all feel like home. Thank you for the music, the memories, and the kindness. You will be deeply missed, but your voice will always echo in our hearts.

What a shrewdy this Guy was!  Dennis probably wanted to be remembered as a good bowler, good singer, great fisherman and friend, great family man, etc.

Well, he succeeded....only on a totally different level.  His smiling image will always be immediate whenever I sing or hear the word "kareoke".  True I suspect for many, many others as well never to be forgotten as long as kareoke exists.  Now that is marketing genius and legacy!  How many people can do that?

I truly loved our friendship, our warm greeting when we met...especially at his "studio".  Smiling always, handshake sometimes like we had never met before.  Enjoying great humor.

I thanked Dennis many times for the music he provided to us all.  I loved our duets.  What I never got the chance to express was his impact and success in bringing the best out of my music.  So much appreciated Dennis!

Thanks for sharing, MJ...including the strong love between you.

We will miss this very special neighbor.  Rest in peace!  the Zerbys
Please accept Joseph's and my deep, deep sorrow and support for the family.  He was truly one of a kind

I'm a new Trilogy resident and I only got to attend one Karaoke event, but I was blown away by the life, energy, enthusiasm, fun and friendship that was flowing there like honey.  Thank you, Dennis and Mary Jo.

I was in major shock and then a wave of sadness and disbelief when I heard the news of Dennis's passing!  I may not have been as close with Dennis as so many others were but definitely aware of his being a friend to not only myself but many of us here in Trilogy and those of us who enjoyed bowling with him as well!  I know he was very generous with his time too as evidenced by his being a DJ and hosting karaoke on a monthly basis. Dennis will be truly missed by all who knew him and our heartfelt condolences go out to MJ and his beloved family!!
