I only knew Dennis through his wonderful wife--but I also had the privilege of buying and reading one of his books. He is very much missed by his family but I know he continues, most deservedly, to be respected and well loved by all those whose lives were touched by his in ways small or large.

I’ve known Dennis for over 50 years, and I remember him as an enthusiastic field school student and a good crew chief at Thunderbird. Over the years his enthusiasm and dedication for archaeology continued. He was a significant contributor to mid-Atlantic archaeological research and participated in decades of public outreach programs. I especially remember Dennis as a lifelong supporter of the Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference, where he made many contributions to the management of the organization as it evolved over the decades. His important leadership and guidance will be left to those who will never have the depth or care that Dennis had for MACC.
I know that you will be consoled by many fond memories of Dennis and I will miss him.

The Curry Family , I met Dennis when our boys met in pre-school in Laurel. I became his hairdresser, about 25 years ago . He went from client- to dear friend . We always shared family stories, grandchildren stories , and getting old together . He adored his family , and talked about them with so much love . I looked forward to seeing him on appointment day , and enjoyed our talks , with laughed , and set up our next appointment. I will miss him . My condolences to the family ,You are in my thought's and prayers .

Dear Mary and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I went to grade school (St,. Dominic's) and high school (Cardinal Mooney) with Dennis. We were "altar boys" together. He was such a kind, smart and accepting young man.
