Dennin's obituary

Dennin Roy Peterson, born 3/20/1947 in Duluth MN & passed away on 6/11/2024 while visiting Duluth MN. His passing was following many complications from his exposure to Agent Orange thru Military Service as a Marine in Vietnam.

Dennin was a Father, Grandfather, Husband,Brother,Uncle and Friend.

Denny was a gifted and talented fisherman and hunter. Some would say ‘Legend’. He fished far & wide and made many friends in his travels. He had a knack for successfully hunting whatever animal he pursued. Denny was able to continue to hunt and fish after his Parkinson's diagnosis thanks to his many generous and kind friends.

He moved to the Texas Gulf Coast 30 years ago but returned to Minnesota every spring. Living on the island of Port Aransas TX and visiting Minnesota allowed for year round fishing and hunting. A life many dream of.

He was known to be difficult and demanding, while being Passionate, Fun, Generous, and Welcoming Always.

He will be dearly missed but the stories and memories of his life, adventures & teachings will be eternally helpful and comforting.

He is survived by his Wife Jo-Anne, Sons Russ Osborne, Ronnie Osborne, Kraig Peterson, and Den Peterson and daughter Joey Silva. Brother Oscar Peterson, Sisters Shirley Welander and Caroline Gray. Along with all their spouses and children. Many extended family members & his favorite person Uncle Nook. He is preceded in death by his younger brother Lee Peterson of Arkansas.

There will be a Celebration of Life in Duluth MN: Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery on July 1, 2024 2:00 pm.  A second Memorial will take place following his family’s return to Port Aransas, TX.
