Debbie, Erin and family,

I was shocked to hear of Denise’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Sadly it has been years since I’ve seen her. Denise was beautiful inside and out.  I will always remember her infectious smile and how much fun she was at our family reunions. Erin you did a wonderful job writing her obituary. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

 Cousin, Shelley Crawford

What I remember most about Denise was her amazing smile and sense of humor that brought joy to everyone that knew her. She loved being a mom, her cats, cooking ( her sauce and meatballs), the Yankees and music. We shared our love for Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks and will always remember her when I hear Landslide. I remember her cheering on Erin at numerous softball games and being her number one fan. She always was such a proud mom. Even when she faced her toughest challenges she always remained resilient. She was a source of encouragement for all of us. Our hearts will be forever broken until we meet again. Rest in peace Denise ❤️

I was so saddened to hear about Denise's passing.   I was a childhood friend from grammar school , Nichols School.   We lived in the same neighborhood as children.  She was always smiling and friendly .I also remember, Pauline, her Mom when I visited after school.  I remember in the 5th grade together , she  had a call from home , 3pm, that her Mom had passed away suddenly.   I  was heartbroken for her and it is forever etched in my memory.  Denise was so strong and handled the tragedy very well,   Our families grieved.  As life has it, we all get very busy and lose touch.  About 5 years , I  ran into her at Dunkin Donuts in Paradise Green, Stratford.   She recognized me first and as always she was smiling and so pleasant.  We caught up to date quickly,  I wish we had more time to talk & visit.  She had a beautiful  daughter , Erin, whom she loved and adored.  That was a blessing for her.  Since, then I have lost my entire family in a very short time which  was very painful.  To Erin & her family and Denise's extended family & friends I extend my deepest condolences on your  tremendous loss .  Denise is smiling above and watching over you just as she was on this earth.  Watch for the signs from above from our brave & kind Denise.   I will always remember her smiling face.   Deepest Sympathy.

Mary Tarasiuk  ( a friend from the Andrew St neighborhood)

I had the pleasure working with Denise as a caregiver for a few years. She was such a caring hard working person. We always had a lot of laughs. She absolutely loved being a grandmother and cooking all things Italian. She always put others first and will be sadly missed. 🙏

Denise worked for years as a supervisor at Youth Continuum, quickly becoming the "house mom" at one of our group homes, giving her heart and time supporting the growth of young men who needed it most.  Her smile, laughter, and music permeated the home, raising the spirits of staff and youth alike, as she filled all of our bellies with best homecooked meals.  All of us remember fondly the time that she stopped traffic outside of the home to allow a turtle to safely cross!  That memory sums up Denise...selfless in support of others.

From her Youth Continuum family, to her daughter (whom she spoke of so highly and so often), son-in-law, grandchildren and extended family...we send our deepest condolences to you all, and are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I first met Denise when we were in our early 20’s .  She was always full of energy, love, laughs and always gave you such a smile and hug and asked “how are you” and she was truthful and meant all her words. We had a lot of laughs together and I admired her energy and spirit.  A beautiful girl inside and out. The world is going to miss this lady
I have so many amazing memories of Denise spanning decades. She has touched my life in so many ways. I promise to remind her grand-babies of how great her hugs were. My favorite memory by far was the look on her face at Erin & Dans wedding, beaming with pride and joy, at peace knowing how well her daughter would be taken care of and how happy she was. She taught me how to be fierce and confident. I will think of her every time I hear the waves and smell the salt water.
Denise was such a wonderful woman. She was forever joyous and happy. She was an amazing mother, raising Erin on her own. I was always so proud of her. She entertained us all at the sporting events we attended so often. She will always come to mind when I hear Stevie and when I look at the ocean. I will miss her. My heart hurts for her beautiful daughter, son-in-law and grandbabies. We will make sure they know you, Denise. Until we meet again. Love you forever.
So sorry to hear of Denise’s passing. She always helped me out back when I lived in Seymour. She would even stop by to take care of my cat when I was traveling and said she loved giving the cat a brushing and some pets. She always beamed when she spoke of Erin and her accomplishments and adventures as she grew into adulthood. Sincere condolences
Denise called me her Soul Sister and I called her my Kindred Spirit.  We were so much alike and so different.  We shared a friendship through the years that was very special and I will carry a piece of her in my heart until we meet again❤️

We really were a family that …
We really were a family that never took things seriously.
Always a fun time with Denise
Blues on the Beach
Always a fun time with Denise — with Me and Denise
When Denise and I went to the Ringo Starr and his all star band concert, we were sitting in traffic waiting to get out of the parking garage, so I said “whoooo’s the only guy to take you to see one of the Beatles”! And she said in such a soft voice “you did”. It was so cute and I’ll never forget it

What stands out the most in my memories of Denise is how she would be absolutely beaming with love and pride at the extra special life events.  Erin’s bridal shower and wedding, Alabama’s sip and see baby shower, Danny’s sprinkle- she was absolutely overflowing with joy and it was contagious.  So thankful to have been a part of those super happy and special moments and watch her dreams for you come true.

Another funny memory was from maybe the first Halloween party at Bishop when Joe first had her cooking and she was so happy that he was loving it she kept giving him more.  She was the best cook and you could tell it brought her happiness to watch people enjoy.

We will always love you and think of you so fondly Denise. Rest in the sweetest peace.

I will always remember Denise as giving the best hugs, her big warm smile, her love for Stevie - and even moreso her love for Erin (and all of our girlfriends).  Our hearts are shattered knowing you left this world far too soon.  I will miss our heart to hearts and your world of wisdom.  We will make sure your grand babies know how much their Mema loved them.  Love you so much Denise you will be forever in our hearts.
