Denise Marie Redente (DiMartino) of New Haven died on April 27, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Denise was born in New Haven on September 2, 1961, to the late Fred DiMartino and Clara DiMartino (Frank).

Denise worked for the New Haven Public Library for many years and was an avid reader, particularly of romance novels. She loved watching New Haven Nighthawks ice hockey games. She grew up playing the flute and somehow knew the words to every song on the radio.

Denise was the mother of Everett Redente, Matthew Redente, and the late Michael Redente. She is remembered by many family members including her siblings, Michele Cappiello, Freddy DiMartino, Pamela Neleber, Christine Monroe, and Richard DiMartino; her niece, Mia Cappiello; her stepmother, Eleanor DiMartino; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her former partner and father of her children, Michael “Yogi” Redente, and former partner, Fred M. Judson.
