Denise's obituary

Denise Ann Harbison, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 2nd, at the age of 65.

Denise had a remarkable gift for filling a room with warmth and color, much like the sunsets she so dearly loved. Known for her infectious smile and kind heart, she found her greatest peace near the water and soaking up the sun. Whether she was watching dolphins play in the canal or simply enjoying the view from the lanai. Her gentle and observant spirit was always at home by the shore.

A dedicated conversationalist, Denise was the one you could always count on to pick up the phone and call—whether for a quick morning check-in, a multi-hour catch-up, or to share the latest gossip. Her phone calls were the glue that held her world together, ensuring that no one she loved ever felt alone. Her radiant smile and the comforting sound of her voice on the other end of the line will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Palmer, who was her partner through every sunset and milestone. Her legacy of love continues through her children: Allison (Ben), Weston (Michelle), and Joe (Raimie). She is also survived by her sisters: Denel (Paul), Bridgette (Mark) and Delon. She was the proud and loving grandmother to Alexia (Seth), Maliea, Elijah, Mason, Layla, Henry, Ryan, Vincent, Hope, and Micah. They were truly the center of her world, and she was forever ready to 'show off' a new photo and brag about their latest milestones to anyone within earshot—whether it was a lifelong friend or strangers she befriended at the local Publix. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Kayla, Kelsey, Mike (Jaycee), Heidi (Tony), Amber, and Austin. The silence on the other end of the line will be felt by her large extended family and the many dear friends she kept close through a lifetime of long talks and shared secrets.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Wes; her mother, Diann; and her beloved Aunt Jeannie.

In lieu of traditional tributes, the family asks that you honor Denise by making a 'just because' phone call. Share a story, offer a kind word, or remind someone they are cherished. She lived for these moments of connection, and there is no better way to celebrate her life than to keep those conversations going.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am

Luncheon to follow.
