Dee Ann's obituary

Denise “Dee Ann” Gamble, born November 22, 1956, passed away peacefully February 25th, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Dee Ann was a woman whose life was defined by the love she poured into others. Sister of older brother Steve Settle, and cherished daughter of Green Settle and Marge Settle, from Acton Indiana, of whom she carried their  instilled values — kindness, loyalty, and devotion to family — throughout her life. As a loving daughter, she honored her parents not only in words but in the way she lived, always showing gratitude, respect, and deep family pride.

A devoted wife of 45 years to her beloved husband, Larry, she built a marriage rooted in partnership, friendship, and adventure. Together they shared a life filled with travel, laughter, and, in recent years, many rounds of golf side by side — a passion they especially enjoyed after her retirement in 2021.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and loving mother to her oldest son, Luke, and his spouse, Sarah, and to her youngest son, Zack. Becoming a grandmother was one of the most treasured chapters of her life. Her granddaughters, Layla and Harper, and her grandson, Noah, were the center of her world. She had a true gift for making memories — whether through family gatherings, vacations, simple afternoons together, or traditions that will live on for generations. Every moment with her children and grandchildren was cherished deeply.

Dee Ann also carried a strong passion for her work and the people she worked alongside, where over the decades of her career she formed meaningful, lasting relationships with her coworkers. Her dedication, warmth, and genuine care for others made her not only respected professionally but loved personally. Throughout her life, she was blessed with many close, lifelong friends and continued to expand her circle, welcoming new friendships with open arms wherever life took her.

An avid golfer, Dee Ann found joy and peace on the course. What began as a hobby grew into a beloved retirement passion, especially when she and Larry traveled to new places to play together. The fairways and greens became another place where she built memories, shared laughter, and embraced the simple pleasures of life.

Those who knew Dee Ann will remember her generous heart and the way she made everyone feel like family. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and create moments that mattered. She was an inspiration not only to family and friends but also to anyone who was around her in the last years of her life, showing that you only get one time on this Earth, so make the most of it.

Her love will continue to live on through her devoted husband Larry; her children, Luke and Sarah, and Zack; her treasured grandchildren, Layla, Harper, and Noah; and through the many friends whose lives she touched so deeply. She will be profoundly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
