It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Denise Finch, who departed this world on September 17, 2024, at the age of 59. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Denise’s life was a testament to creativity, intelligence, and unshakable spirit.

Denise attended St. Ann’s Catholic School in Hartford, Connecticut. From an early age, it was clear she possessed extraordinary talent—especially in music and the arts. She studied piano at the Hartford Conservatory and dance at the Artist Collective, where she cultivated a deep love for performance and artistic expression.

In 1978, Denise moved to Washington, D.C., where she continued to develop her musical gifts. Her ear for music was remarkable—she could play songs effortlessly, often by ear alone. She was an active participant in many festivals and numerous performance opportunities. She brought her vibrancy and talent to every stage she graced. Denise graduated from McKinley Tech High School and pursued higher education at Georgetown University, where she majored in English. Her academic journey reflected her passion for language, literature, and intellectual growth.

Denise was intelligent, ambitious, and strikingly beautiful—inside and out. A true creative soul, she inspired those around her with her passion, grace, and authenticity.

She is survived by: Beatrice Finch, Gina Kessee, Michael Finch, Debbie Finch, Karen Finch Miraldi, Molly Killingsworth, Ishmael Finch, Lyndeshia Finch, Mikhaila Finch, and Lei-Lani Finch who all cherish her memory and miss her dearly. Denise is preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert Finch, and now joins him in eternal rest. She leaves behind a legacy of artistry, warmth, and resilience that will live on in all who knew her.

A private service will be held by the family to honor Denise’s life and the indelible mark she left on their hearts.
