Denise's obituary

Denise Marie Carnahan, of East Hampton, CT peacefully passed away to God’s Graces on January 5 after a sudden illness.

Denise (Giacomozzi) was born on September 6, 1952 to Peter and May Giacomozzi  in Quincy, MA.   She spent most of her life in Weymouth, MA and after graduation from Weymouth High School, she worked steadily with her Dad in Par Construction.

Denise received her Bachelor's Degree from Lesley University and worked with Project Place in Boston, Ma and was a Weight Watcher’s Motivational speaker. She was also involved in many local Community Activities in Weymouth, Ma. Denise later established the counseling service “Crossroads” in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where she lived with her husband, Mel, for 10 years. Although always willing to share her heart and expertise, she retired upon her return to CT.

Denise is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Mel Carnahan, her daughter, Jennifer (Laliberte) Carlstrom, and spouse, David of Rocky Hill, CT and her stepchildren: Oliver Carnahan and spouse Caitlin of Attleboro, MA; Morgan (Carnahan) Heffner and spouse Jerry of Springfield, VA; Andrea (Carnahan) Bolton and spouse Peter of Avon, CT.

Denise was deeply passionate about Family and was a proud and loving Nana to: Tyler, Ryan and Bryce Carlstrom; Nathan and Zach Carnahan; Sean Heffner; and Quinn and Evie Bolton.

She was also joyfully Auntie to: Philip and Michelle Kramer; Christina Weston, Leah Brown, Lynn Summer, Gregory and Chris Haddad and Tara and Tyler Giacomozzi.

Denise is predeceased by her parents and sisters Pamela A. Gordon and Patricia Haddad.  She is survived by Mary F. Larson and spouse Niles of Concord, CA, Linda L. Giacomozzi of Westwood, MA; Teresa Freedom of Rocky Hill, CT; Lisa M. Giacomozzi of Oakland, ME and Matthew Giacomozzi of Bourne, MA. 

Denise will be remembered with great affection by her numerous extended family members and her wealth of friends.
