. Jacques Larivière et Louisette

Denis was a longtime colleague and friend, and one of my favorite people to dine with. Over all the years we worked together at Christie Lites we bonded over meals. A petite filet, penne a la vodka, many plates of French fries at Jody’s – these formed the backdrop where I got to know, respect and love Denis Richard. Denis often called people by both names, so I started greeting him as Denis Richard, not just Denis. I don’t know why that stuck with me. Of course he was Denis Richard – was there really any other Denis in our lives? There are so many Denis stories and memories; some of them I was there for, and most not. Over 25 years my visits with Denis were sporadic but priceless. I learned so much from him about business, about people, and about life. Our time together was fleeting, and he is gone far too soon. Tracy and I fondly remember our days spent with Denis and Fran at the Ranch some years back. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Matt, the family, and all the clients, crews, colleagues and friends who are missing him so much. We are all blessed to have known such a unique and generous man. Au revoir, mon ami Denis Richard. A la prochaine. Ken

The Insight team were all incredibly saddened to hear of the sudden passing of our dear friend and trusted colleague Denis Richard over JUNO weekend. Denis was a trusted friend and lighting supplier to the JUNOS and many other Insight productions for over 30 years. His infectious laugh, charm and warm hugs will be deeply missed by everyone on our technical teams, our productions teams and his family at Insight. His reach went far beyond the lighting department. In 2024, Insight inducted Denis into its Crew Hall of Fame and we were so thrilled to have shared that special moment and so many incredible memories with him. We will miss you dear friend. Sending all of our love to Denis’ family.
Love, your Insight Family

I had the pleasure of working with Denis for a number of years at Christie Lites. His big personality, jokes, and caring heart will surely be missed. Sending love to family, friends, and colleagues as you struggle to cope with this loss.

When I met Denis, almost 50 years ago, he was already a sound and light guy... and a Sound & Light show all by himself ;-) He worked hard and he played hard!
Denis was a bright man, an incandescent man. He had this inner light that made you want to be his friend. This was true at 16 and at 65 years-old.
Warm thoughts to you all.
Cher Mathieu, ton père était tellement fier de toi! Je te souhaite que les bons souvenirs chassent rapidement ta peine. Si ça se peut, c'est certain qu'il a un spot sur toi et que son amour pour toi t'éclairera longtemps.

Louise and I have so many great memories of Denis and we miss him dearly. I feel fortunate to have had some special time with him in recent history including standing in central Paris together enjoying a croissant and hanging out at my cottage last summer on Georgian Bay sharing laughs… with Denis just being Denis, you know how he was, he should have been on the stage!🤣

I am going to miss you…
