Demario's obituary

DeMario Higgs, affectionately known as “Mario” or “MacYo” was born November 27, 1980 in Memphis Tennessee to Artis Knox and Richard Higgs. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

DeMario Higgs professed his faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. He later became a member of Greater Imani Church, The Cathedral of Faith in which he continued to develop his relationship with Christ.

A man of determination and ambition, Mario was dedicated to his chose profession and entrepreneurship. He pursued his education at William R. Moore School of Technology, where he earned his professional certification in Welding. Never one to settle, he later returned to school and obtained a degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Although he worked several jobs throughout his career, his goal was always to build something of his own. With persistence and dedication, he achieved that dream by founding Limitless Maintenance LLC, a company that became a testament to his skill, passion, work ethic, and commitment to helping others in his family and community.

DeMario was highly respected by his family, peers, and the business community. His commitment to excellence earned him a strong reputation among his clients, and he took great pride in his work. This commitment to excellence earned his business an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, a testament to his exceptional business standards and dedication to customer satisfaction.

Beyond his professional success, Mario valued brotherhood and service. He was a the Senior Deacon of the Masonic Lodge, Eureka Lodge #3- P.H.A. where he embraced the principles of unity, integrity, and community service.Mario's presence left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him. His entrepreneurial mindset, his fun-loving spirit, and devotion to faith and family will forever be cherished.

Demario is survived by his two beloved children, Amiya Higgs and Demario Higgs Jr., along with his biological mother, Artis Knox, his sister, Dinisha Higgs, and his nieces Zakaiaha Marshall and Denver Banks, and his nephew Dillan Banks.

He also leaves behind his aunt and maternal figure, Claudia “Gloria” Jones (& Bennie) and close aunt Patricia Knox as well as his aunt Cynthia Knox, and uncles Calvin Knox, Chris Knox, Jimmy Knox, Cleaven Knox, Kasey Anthony (& Ferlanda) with a special bond shared with his uncle Darryl “Pete” Knox and cousins Delicia “DeeDee” Hull, and David “Lil David” Knox. Mario held deep affection for all of his family members and loved ones including a host of cousins, friends, former romantic partners and business associates to cherish his legacy and rejoice over his life of triumph and determination.
