Delores's obituary
Delores "Dee Dee or Mandy" Williams, a cherished beacon of love and laughter, departed this world on May 30, 2024. Born on April 6, 1966, Delores spent her vibrant life as a hard-core, free-spirited, loving, caring, crazy, wild, funny, and compassionate woman. Known fondly as Dee Dee or Mandy to those close to her, she was the heartbeat of her family, a strength they could lean on, and the source of endless laughter.
Delores was an icon in her community and a loyal attendee at the United Pentecostal Church. She also played an integral role in the Bashful Bandit Community Club, where the members appreciated her spirit and enthusiasm. She was the evergreen tree that sheltered her family, offering tender love, warmth, and light to those fortunate enough to bask in her presence. Delores' favorite moments were the simplest ones – watching "Let’s Make a Deal" or "The Bachelorette", relishing Mexican food, especially enchiladas with extra lettuce and lots of candy chips, sipping on her favorite drinks which were Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, sweet tea, and orange juice with pulp.
Her life was a canvas painted with vibrant splashes of pink, purple, and teal – the color of her cancer ribbon, and she relished the joy of being around her children and grandchildren, whose love and respect for her were unquantifiable. Her favorite pastime was taking long walks around her beloved town of Tucson, and she cherished her trips back home to Kokomo, Indiana, and exploring different states like Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Delores' greatest accomplishments were not measurable by any tangible parameters but were manifested in the lives of her five beautiful children – Kyla Compton, Todd Williams, Hezekiah Williams, Breeze Carlisle, and Raquel Carlisle. She was a proud grandmother to David Jr McKenzie, Porfirio Ramirez, Karina Ramirez, Faith Hollingsworth, Mateo Perez, Conner Stockton, Isis Compton, Lyrik Compton, Eizaiah King, and Braden Martin. Her legacy also continues through her son-in-law, Christopher Sandoval; niece Danielle Williams; sister, Sheila Williams; brother Jesse, Nelson, and Lori Sister and extended family member Tammy McClellan and her daughters Samantha Nicole The rich tapestry of her life and love will always be a part of them.
Her father, Glenn Edwards Williams, and grandson, Denver Jaron, preceded her in death and have undoubtedly received her with open arms in the heavens above. Though her departure leaves a void in numerous hearts, her teachings - to be independent and not to rely on others who may unwittingly hurt them, will forever resonate.
Delores' legacy is one of kindness, laughter, sternness when needed, wild stories and unwavering love. She touched many lives and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all those she encountered. Her absence is deeply felt, especially for those who had the privilege of her candid mother-daughter talks. Her earthly journey may have ended, but the beauty of her spirit and the memories she created will always remain. Rest peacefully, Delores. You will forever be loved and missed.
