Delman's obituary

Delman Edward Rudnik, 89 (4/23/1934 - 4/6/2024)

A long-time resident of Brush, Colorado, Delman joined his wife in eternal rest in the 12th month of his 90th year after a rapid decline. He was born in a barn on a humble family homestead outside of Cope, Colorado, the ninth of eleven children born to Walter Edward and Bertha (Esa) Rudnik. He was preceded in death by his siblings Walter Rudnik, Wilbur Rudnik, Merle Rudnik, Arthur Rudnik, Alice Hill, Wilma Romine, Elsie Hill, and Edna Rudnik. He is survived by his two younger brothers and their wives, John and Dolores Rudnik of Cope, Colorado and Everett and Mary Lou Rudnik of Burlington, Colorado.

He followed the pattern of several of his siblings and moved in with his sister Edna Rudnik in Denver, Colorado when it came time for him to leave the farm. He attended Glad Tidings Assemblies of God Church where he met his high school-aged sweetheart Carol June Sams. They were married on December 17, 1955. Delman attended bible college at Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, TX. He also worked in a paint factory while in college. He and Carol served churches all across the western states as traveling evangelists, singing and preaching the Good News of Jesus. They returned to Glad Tidings as youth pastors under the mentorship of Rev. R.C. Schacterle. On April 27, 1961 he was ordained by the Rocky Mountain District of the Assemblies of God. Shortly thereafter, they welcomed their first son, Douglas Rudnik, who now lives in Greeley, Colorado with his wife Toni Blake. In 1962 Del and Carol became the pastors of the Assembly of God in Durango, Colorado. In 1963 they were blessed with the birth of their second son, Zane Rudnik, who now lives in Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife Carmen (Farmer). In the mid 60s Del moved his family and became the pastor of the Assembly of God in Akron, Colorado where he faithfully pastored for seven years. He also drove a propane truck, drove a school bus, and did some residential painting to support the family while in Akron. Del was always a hard worker.

Due to health reasons with Carol they left the pressures of full-time ministry in 1974. Del became the proprietor of the U-Pump-It gas station in Brush, Colorado. After just a couple of years he started Rudnik Painting, serving Brush, Fort Morgan, and Wiggins for about 30 years. He and Carol were active members and supporters of Calvary Assemblies of God Church in Brush, now Harvest Assembly of God. Del continued to preach throughout his life in churches of many denominations including Baptist, Methodist, Nazarene and Four Square. He was also known to have preached a few sermons around the dinner table. He served as interim pastor for Assemblies of God churches in Brush, Holyoke, Cope and Akron. Del was a life-long student of the Word of God. His faith and trust in God was unwavering. The faith he preached about was the faith he lived. He lovingly cared for his wife through 40+ years of Parkinson’s Disease until Carol’s death in 2018. They were married for 62 years.

Delman is also survived by his granddaughter Stefani (Rudnik) Timmermeyer, her husband Matthew, and great-grandsons Jack, Samuel and Crosby of Loveland, Colorado; and granddaughter Ashley Pace, and great-grandson Leonardo of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The public is invited to attend a memorial service at Harvest Assembly of God, 1012 Eaton St, Brush, Colorado on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 1:00pm, no graveside. In lieu of flowers, please make monetary donations to Harvest Assembly of God
