Delia's obituary

Delia Knight

January 31, 1960 – March 19, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Delia Knight. Born in Pisa, Italy, Delia grew up surrounded by love and lifelong friendships that she cherished dearly. Some of her fondest memories were of her adolescent years filled with long study sessions that led to endless laughter with friends. She also loved spending time in her parents’ leather shop in downtown Pisa, where she developed a deep appreciation for her family and community.

After 13 years of marriage and raising three children, Delia made the courageous move to the United States in 1999 to be closer to her family, who had moved to the U.S. after the tragic loss of her niece. In 2003, she remarried and shared a short but profoundly beautiful love with her second husband before his passing. That same year, she welcomed her fourth child—her greatest joy in life was being a mother, and she poured her heart into raising her children with unconditional love and support.

Delia was a kind and compassionate soul who treated everyone with the same warmth and respect. She had a love for the simple things in life—cooking delicious meals, listening to Italian classics and '70s music, exploring lively downtown areas, and discovering charming little shops. No matter what challenges life brought her way, she met them with grace and perseverance. She worked tirelessly in various roles, from restaurant and retail jobs to a long-standing career in cosmetics. But her true calling came when she became a special education teaching assistant at Vista High School, where she found immense fulfillment in helping her students.

A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Delia found great strength and purpose in her faith. She lived by its teachings, offering kindness, service, and unwavering love to those around her.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and will live on in the memories and love she gave so freely.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 24th, at 12 PM, followed by a church service and celebration of life on Saturday, March 29th, from 12–2 PM. Friends and family are welcome to stop by at any time. Refreshments will be served at 1 PM on Saturday.

Delia’s kindness, strength, and love will remain with us always.
