Delfino's obituary
Delfino Solorzano, 79, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at his home in Chesapeake – surrounded by the ones he loved most.
Born in Granada, Colorado on December 24, 1945 to the late Acension de Jesus Solorzano and Carmen Adame Martinez Solorzano, Delfino was a man of sure opinions, unbound generosity, and fierce loyalty. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 23 years.
He was a lover of sports, particularly the Denver Broncos and Duke Blue Devils Basketball, and an avid fan of game shows like Jeopardy (always almost knowing all of the answers), Price Is Right and he diligently watched Survivor and The History Channel. One of his passions was coaching his grandchildren when they were younger and offering advice when they were old enough to become coaches themselves. He also had a gift of making everyone in his life felt seen.
But his greatest love is his wife, who he called his ‘true miracle’. He never missed an opportunity to remind his friends and family how beautiful she is.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Elena, along with their three children, Anna, Carlos (and Serena), and Estella; his two brothers, Jesus and Bennie; his eight grandsons - Ramon (and Katrina), Christopher, Ruis (and Jazmin), Hector, Enrique (and Emily), Jesse (and Nikkie), Reyes, and Cameron; nine great grandchildren – Jazlin, Azael, Jaila, Jenasis, Jadynce, Messiah, Elliana, Rima, and Bryson; and three great grand dogs – Toby, Jace, and Denver.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 11am to 2pm at Beach Fellowship Church - 1817 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. As a family, we are requesting no all black attire. We would like to honor our beloved father by wearing Denver Broncos or Duke Blue Devils attire or colors (Navy, Orange and White). Memorial service will begin promptly at 11am.
