De'Landa's obituary

De’Landa Jean Dockins transitioned October 29, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 2, 1970 in Knox City, Texas to David and Connie Dockins. She was blessed with 3 children; De’Lasha Singleton, Robert Uhr Jr. and Denzel Dockins.
2 Grandchildren; Sosiua Ofiu and Siaosi Ofiu.

De’Landa ​weaved together her love of supporting and caring for people in many different capacities. She​ was a Certified Nurse Assistant where she dedicated her time to caring for people in facilities for many years. One of her notable moments was being a Cheerleading Assistant coach for Gallaudet University. She was everyone’s favorite child care provider. She was a vital part of the Deaf community. She dedicated her time and energy on uplifting the Deaf Community, especially the Black Deaf community. De’Landa took great pride as a mother and grandmother to De’Lasha, Robert, and Denzel. Included her role as a grandmother to Sosiua and Siaosi Ofiu.

She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Walter and Ora Dockins, Lank and Addie Stafford and Charlie Cooks. Father, David Dockins, Foster mother, Deborah Reed, brothers, William David Cooper and Jimmy Earl Dockins, Caesar Reed, and Theodore Caesar and Brother in law, Blanford Paul, nephews, David Wayne Dockins, David Lee Dockins, Dymond Beamon, Bryson Myers and niece, Tameka.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother: Connie Dockins, children: De’Lasha Singleton, Robert Uhr and Denzel Dockins. Eight brothers: David Dockins Jr., Dennis Dockins, Willie Dockins, John A Dockins (Laura), Bobby Dockins, Patrick Reed, Talmadge Reed, and Renneth Reed; nine sisters: Connie Dockins, Angel Paul(Daniel), LaWanna Hardeman, LoTwanna Hardeman, Teresa Franklin (Patrick), Rosie Flanigan (Roosevelt), Daisy Reed, Carrie DeVaughn and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church (220 S. 5th Ave. Munday, Texas). Interment will follow at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
