Dedric and I went to college together and got to be pretty good friends. He had the best smile and the best laugh. He also had the best heart. I think about him often. I'm thinking of his family and friends, especially today.

I want to send my condolences to Marie and her nieces, sister, parents, brothers, and the rest of the family. I grew up W/ Marie, we met in HS. I have been around her brother plenty of times during our high school years. He was a great individual and I often would envy their bond as I did not have that with my brother. I pray for strength and for peace during this time. I will continue to add your family in my prayers. If you all need anything at all, I will do my best to help out in anyway that I can. The on- and off-the-court joy Dedric brought to Cyclone fans in Hilton Coliseum will never be forgotten.  Nor will his trademark smile. We remember meeting his biggest supporter (his mom) during the Big 8 Tourney in Kansas City. Prayers for the entire family.

I was so sorry to hear about Dedric's passing. He was such a beautiful and kind person. He is a great loss! Heaven got an angel!

My heart goes out to Vonda, Aaliyah and Brooklyn. We were neighbors for several years. Dedric was a good guy. When I lost my husband he cut my grass for weeks. I will always remember his cool personality.

I know God is working to provide strength for you and I am praying for Grace and Mercy to be by your side.

I'm praying not for understanding but strong faith to know that God makes no mistakes. Dedric is an Angel who God deemed that he fulfilled his walk of life by blessing soo many in soo many ways. He called him home because this world was no longer for him as the Joy he was destined to give was complete.
