Debra's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Debra Tau, a shining beacon of love, kindness, and friendship on March 28, 2024. Born on April 8, 1979 (Mesa, Arizona), her vibrant life came to an untimely end, leaving behind a precious legacy that continues to echo in our hearts.
Debra is survived by her loving sons, Thaddeus and Phelix Zalavarria, who were the recipients of her boundless love and nurturing. Her father Mark (Anne Marie) Tau, mother Joanne Tau, brothers Randy (Bethany) Tau and Andrew (Claire) Tau, sister Shelly (Todd) Marks, grandmother Marjorie Ann Tau, loving uncles, aunts, 10 nephews & nieces, and many cousins are also left behind to remember her radiant spirit.
She was predeceased by her grandfathers Frank Tau and Herbert Erbele, grandmother Amy Erbele (Barlow), and nephew Elijah Marks. Their beautiful memories will forever be intertwined with Debra's in the hearts of those who loved and knew them.
Known for her tenacity, compassion, creativity, and affectionate "mama bear" personality, Debra touched many lives. She was an enduring friend, a Christ follower, and was renowned for her ability to give creative and thoughtful gifts. A level 9 gymnast and cheerleader in high school, Debra was as agile in spirit as she was in body. She was a hardworking and reliable employee, and above all, a nurturing mother to her two boys.
Her departing leaves a void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Debra leaves behind a lasting impression that focuses on love, kindness, and friendship that echoes in our memories and lives on through her wonderful sons.
A Celebration of Life for Debra will be held on April 5, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Via Church, 740 N Power Rd, Mesa, AZ.
