Background

Your gift to Covenant Hospice makes a real difference in the lives of people in communities all around the North Florida Panhandle and Southern Alabama who are at their most vulnerable as they cope with a life-limiting illness or with grief and loss. A donation to hospice ensures that people receive comfort care whenever and wherever they need it. It helps hospice patients under care – regardless of age – live their remaining days fully, in dignity, comfort and peace, and in accordance with their wishes and beliefs. And it assures patients’ loved ones and many others from the broader community receive the bereavement care they need.
Debra was helped greatly by hospice services during the passing of her mother, Elizabeth Nessel, over 30 years ago. It made such an impact on her that she supported hospice providers in every way that she was able for the years to follow. Later in life, Debra's daughter, Cristal, went on to work in Hospice and Palliative Care for Covenant Hospice - mainly due to the positive impact it had on her family during the passing of her grandmother. It was her wish to be able to assist with providing these same services to others in the community and help them also have that same positive experience during what is often the hardest point in their lives.
