Deborah Ann Sundahl, age 69, of Livinston, MT passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2023 at the Riverstone Hospice House in Billings, MT. Debi was born on New Year's Day, 1954 in St. Paul, MN, the first of seven children to Sonny and Shirley Willenbring. Debi took great pride in her son Aaron Schultz and found great joy in her granddaughter Josie.

Debi always tried to immerse herself in nature. She was a dedicated herbalist who loved loose-leaf teas. With a degree from the U of MN in women's studies, Debi focused her life’s work on woman’s sexuality. She started and ran a magazine in San Francisco with her life-long friend Nan Kinney during the 1980’s. Later, she became an author and lecturer touring extensively throughout Europe. Some of her past work is preserved in the Cornell and UCLA libraries.

Debi’s last car had 330,000 miles with a bumper sticker that read, "Practice Random Kindness & Senseless Acts of Beauty". Perhaps thousands saw that message of peace during her many cross-country trips.

She is preceded in death by her dear sister Nancy and mother Shirley. She is survived by her son Aaron (Jen) and granddaughter Josie in addition to her father, Sonny, plus her four brothers; David, Douglas, Donald, Dale and sister Denise.

Debi’s family extend our great appreciation to Matt Montgomery, Debi’s companion, who provided love, support and care when Debi needed these things most.  

A funeral Mass featuring Taize music will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia, MN at 6:30PM on July 23rd, with visitation beginning at 5:30PM. The service will be livestreamed at www.stjosephwaconia.org/watch…
