Deborah Ann "Debbie" Stark (née Attaway), age 65, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born on September 26, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents John Attaway Sr. and Florence Fischer-Attaway. Debbie brought joy and light to all who knew her throughout her vibrant life.
Debbie was the beloved wife of Jimmy Stark and a devoted mother to her daughters Christina Hathaway (Matthew), Jessica Champagne, and Kimberly Champagne (Charles). She also cherished her stepdaughter April Williamson (Tary). Her grandchildren—Caiden Champagne, MaKenzi Champagne, and Chloe Champagne—were a source of immense pride and joy in her life.
Debbie is also survived by her siblings John Attaway (Rhonda), Sheila Attaway, Tina Baudoin (Scott), Terri Gardner (Chris), Christopher Attaway, and Windy Attaway, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased in death by her grandparents Josephine Bouise and Robert Fischer; her parents John Attaway Sr. and Florence Fischer-Attaway; her sister Josephine Attaway; and Clifford Champagne III, her ex-husband and father to her children.
Debbie lived a life filled with love, adventure, and kindness. She had an infectious laugh that could brighten any room and a smile that radiated warmth. Known for her giving nature and vibrant personality, she touched countless lives with her caring spirit. Her favorite color—a beautiful lavender amethyst hue—reflected the gentle yet striking essence of who she was.
A woman of many passions, Debbie loved playing bingo with friends, traveling to new places, singing with joy in her heart, and spending quality time with family. She had a deep love for animals and found happiness in cooking meals that brought people together. Her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses was an integral part of her life.
Debbie’s memory will be forever cherished by those who loved her. May the legacy of her laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered always.
