Ms. Deborah Jane Christopher Pennington passed away at her home in the early morning hours of January 7, 2023, at the age of 51.

Deborah, known affectionately by most who knew her as “Debbie,” was born on October 17, 1971. She was adopted as an infant by Don and Jane Christopher of Pasadena, Texas, who were overjoyed to have her as their beloved daughter. She graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1990 and in the ensuing decade was honored with the gift of three wonderful children. She held numerous jobs through the years but is most remembered for her time spent as a much-loved employee at the Houston Area Safety Council (HASC) where she authored, produced, and appeared in many training films still in use today.

Those who knew Debbie the longest knew of her vivacious and fun personality, willingness to befriend, penchant for joking and storytelling, fondness for music, cooking, gardening, and horticulture, and her love for animals. She adored her children and grandchildren and enjoyed serving as a “second mom” to her younger brothers as they grew and matured.

Debbie is preceded in death by her mother, Jane Christopher. Survivors include her father Don Christopher, children Corinne, Erica, and Blake Persons, brothers John and Steven Christopher, grandchildren Lincoln Pierce and Faith Persons, and partner Kevin West.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Texas on Sunday, January 29, at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend.
