Having worked and assisted Debbie on projects at Inland Steel I share your grief and offer my spiritual support in your hours of need.

After retiring from Inland and my daughter was on staff and teaching at Emerson School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Gary, IN she met an active parent and she reconnected me with Debbie.

I share three song lyrics that best exemplify Deborah and “A life Well Lived.”

Nat “King” Cole's – “Smile”   I will always remember Debbie’s beautiful smile.

Her's – “I’m Not Ok”    Debbie turned children's  “I’m Not Ok” to “I’m Ok”

Lastly, Celine Dion's – “My Heart Will Go On”  Debbie’s letter to all of us.

I urge you to yield to the everlasting arms of our Savior, who will safely enfold you and never, ever let go.

Eli Johnson, Jr. Co–worker Inland Steel

Angela C. Johnson Emerson School VPA

Debbie was an untiring advocate, volunteer, mentor and cheerleader for Emerson VPA.

She worked hard for the students and staff, she loved Emerson.

My condolence to the family. My life has been made richer by our paths crossing.

From the first Pta meeting to field  trips, to her day care center, to Wiked in Chicago, to moving in, through Katie, Ben and Kim. All my love and condolences!!!💔
