Deborah's obituary
We mourn the loss and celebrate the vibrant life of Deborah Nickelson, born on June 2, 1950, and passed away on August 12, 2025. A free-spirited woman, her caring and adventurous spirit touched many lives and will forever echo in the hearts of her loved ones.
Deborah is survived by her loving daughter Taya Rohlf, son Michael Nickelson, grandsons Caleb and Braedon Nickelson, granddaughter Sydney Ebert, and grandson Gage Ebert and great grandson Julius Nickelson. She is also survived by her son-in-law Jayson Rohlf, daughter-in-law Jen Heim, mother Irma Hill and siblings Janet Pieracini, Colleen Baer, Carmen Coppler, Brenda Eingle, Lynnette Saucedo and Curtis Hill. She is predeceased by her brother Chip Hill and ex-husband Tim Nickelson.
Deborah was an artist by nature, finding beauty in all forms of music and expressing herself through art. Her love for movies was vast, with favorites ranging from the romantic 'Under The Tuscan Sun' and 'The Princess Bride', to the mystical 'Practical Magic' and 'Chocolat', and the thrilling 'Vertigo'. A playful soul, she was always ready for a game of Rummy or Euchre.
Deborah was an adventurer at heart. She loved walking in nature and cherished her excursions to Sedona and Lily Dale, which she often referred to as spiritual havens. Locally, she frequented Kildeer Plains and Indian Mill, finding peace and joy in their natural beauty. Her love for the color turquoise reflected her free spirit and vibrant personality.
Deborah believed in the power of kindness, love, and respect for nature. She wore these values like a badge and shared their importance with everyone she met. Her passion for helping people learn about art and spirituality was infectious and inspiring. She gave her wisdom freely and passionately, encouraging others to embrace their creativity and spiritual selves.
In Deborah's memory, let us keep her lessons in our hearts and her love for life in our actions. She was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her, embodying a silliness that brought joy, a caring heart that comforted, and an adventurous spirit that inspired.
