Deborah's obituary

Deborah Petrunio Hryshchyshyn, aged 66, passed away on September 8, 2023, in Cary, North Carolina. Born on May 12, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Elena Petrunio and the late Joseph Petrunio. Deborah was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Deborah received her education at Sto-Rox High School and pursued further studies at the esteemed University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University. Throughout her professional journey, she excelled as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist, contributing her expertise to renowned companies such as Bristol Myers Squibb, Andrex, and Ajinomoto.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Mark Hryshchyshyn, her loving mother, Elena Petrunio, her dear brother, Nicholas J. Petrunio, her beloved daughters, Larissa Hryshchyshyn and Stephanie Ovsenik, and her adored grandsons, Dean Brady and Noah Brady. Deborah's absence will be profoundly felt by her family and friends.

An open house gathering, in lieu of a traditional service, to honor Deborah's life and pay tribute to her memory will take place at the Hryshchyshyn residence in Durham, NC. Family and friends are invited to join together in sharing precious memories and offering support during this difficult time. In remembrance of Deborah, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church Camp, located at 110 All Saints Road, Emlenton, PA 16373. Contributions to this cherished organization will serve as a meaningful tribute to Deborah's life and her dedication to the causes she held dear.

Deborah Petrunio Hryshchyshyn will forever be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her remarkable professional achievements, and her genuine compassion for others. Her legacy will continue to resonate within the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
