My heart is still so sad as we mark the first year of our dear sister Debbie Cowles Dykhouse passing. Yesterday I stumbled on a 2008 Family Reunion video where Debbie organized a surprise 50th BD for me. It was just like Debbie to somehow keep it a secret even inviting a bunch of our friends in Denver to drive up to Estes Park. I loved seeing her incredible smile, laugh, and some of the charming stories she told of our growing up years. I love you Debbie Cowles Dykhouse so much as we miss you daily.
I shared this at the lunch: "In honor of my sister Debbie, I'm going to be wearing my "Debbie Hat". She gave this to me and another one to Cheryl on our last vacation with Rick and Debbie last February on the beach in Kenya. We had an absolutely great time together.

I was so sorry to hear about Deborah's passing. She had such a beautiful joyful spirit and had an exuberant contagious smile! 💕
When I think of Debbie, she always has a smile. She exuded joy! We are so thankful for the wonderful memories when our families were together in Indianapolis. We appreciate your positive influence with the teens and young families at church. Rick, Dave has often mentioned how he values the times you two shared together. I so appreciate the support you and Debbie gave to our family when Dave was so sick in 2016. It is hard to understand why Debbie's life with us was cut so short, but her life certainly reminds us of the impact that we can make for Jesus.

Rick and family.  I knew Debbie from Northwest Nazarene College.  Not well.......but enough to now follow each other on instagram.  I feel like I have had the priviledge of getting  to know her, and you a little bit from all she shared.  What a loving and wonderful family.  I pray you will be comforted by each other, all those around you and the memories you have shared.

A fellow Connecticut resident btw.

I, along with the North County Christian School community was deeply saddened to hear of Debbie's passing.  Debbie, Rick and the Dykhouse family are treasured members of our NCCS family.  Debbie gave our school community a true blessing by serving as our school superintendent (Head of School) on a volunteer basis for two years from August 2010 through May 2012.  She was loved by parents, students and staff.  Her love for Jesus and for children was always so evident and her contagious smile would brighten any room.  Our prayers are with your family during this time.

I met Debbie on the Greece trip with Olivet. She was known to us even before we met via her selfie posts o she and Rick exploring places we would see!
She lit up the room!
Such a warm loving example of Christ in all she did!
God bless Rick and her family 💕🙏🏻💔

When debbie came out to california. We always made it a point to get together, wheather it be going out to dinner and visiting at my mom‘s house or aunt Joyce’s as Debbie would say.  getting together with our cousin Janet here in California as well to have a dinner and the get together. She is always so happy and upbeat and I still can’t believe that she is gone so quick, we just saw her in November and we were able to have a wonderful time at the Huntington library for tea and walking around the gardens.
