Deborah's obituary
Deborah Lindsey Morrison, lovingly known as “Debbie,” passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on July 2, 1953, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Debbie lived a life defined by generosity, warmth, and an unwavering love for others.
Debbie truly never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for conversation and connection, able to talk with anyone for hours. Whether it was a lifelong friend or someone she had just met, Debbie had a way of turning simple moments into meaningful ones, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
She spent much of her earlier years devoted to helping to care for her nieces, nephews, and eventually her grandchildren, pouring her time, energy, and love into helping raise and support them. Her home was always open—a welcoming place filled with laughter, comfort, and the feeling of belonging. Everyone who walked through her door was greeted by her caring spirit and her signature bright-red-lip smile, a kiss that left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Debbie’s love of cooking was one of the many ways she shared her heart, turning every meal into an expression of care and love. She always cooked far more than anyone could possibly eat. Through her amazing dishes, she brought people together, creating not just food, but cherished memories—and occasionally enough leftovers to feed an army!
She is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Kaden Laurie and Ally Borne; her brothers, Bill Lindsey, Robert Lindsey, and Benny Lindsey; her nieces, Heather Olinde, Audrea Stuart, and Katy Lindsey; her nephews, Blake Lindsey, Brandon Lindsey, and Ryan Lindsey; her sister-in-law, Della Lindsey; her lifelong best friend, Sandy Burton, and numerous cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and love.
Debbie was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Lindsey Morrison, and her parents, William “Ewell” Lindsey and Mary “Prue” Lindsey.
Debbie will be remembered for her generous heart, her vibrant spirit, and the countless lives she touched with her giving nature and hospitality. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Her loved ones take comfort in knowing she has been joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Lindsey, and her parents, welcomed into eternal peace and surrounded by love.
