Deborah's obituary
If you remember one thing, remember how she loved to dance.
Born Deborah Anne Remuzzi on December 22, 1951, in Staten Island, NY, she danced and laughed through life as a good-natured, fun-loving soul. At age fourteen, Debbie met her soul mate, Raymond Bussi; they married on August 11, 1973, and remained inseparable until her death on October 26, 2024.
She attended Notre Dame College and earned an elementary education degree. While she worked at a daycare, as a substitute teacher, and as a BB&T bank teller, she worked hardest at the most difficult job in the world, being a mother. Debbie was not someone who allowed herself to be defined by the paid positions she had, the vacations she took, or the things she bought. She cherished loves and laughs. And… she was easy to love and laugh with.
She deeply loved her family and friends first, but she also loved so much more. She loved flowers, wind chimes, warm weather, and birds. She loved Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, The Rolling Stones, Dirty Dancing, and Patrick Swayze. She loved Christmas tree lights, her red Toyota Solara, football, and dark coffee. She loved walking in the woods, playing Scrabble, and hanging out with familiar faces. She loved Tiffany lamps, turquoise jewelry, and brown leather. She loved shopping, HDTV, pizza, milkshakes, babies, …and even through her illness, she never stopped dancing. She cherished memories including spending weekends at Hunter Mountain with close friends, cheering on her husband as a Viking cheerleader, shaking Keith Richard’s hand, cuddling her children and grandchildren, and laughing over drinks with friends at Super Bowl parties.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Francis Remuzzi. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Bussi; her siblings, Raymond Remuzzi, Kathleen Bussi, Ellie Bussi, and Gina Stroble; her children and their spouses: Jessica and Sean Taylor, Melanie and Robert Morgan, and RJ and Emily Bussi; and her grandchildren: Johnathon Beasley, Jace Beasley, Morgan Taylor, Madison Taylor, Matthew Morgan, and Christopher Morgan.
Remember what and whom she loved. Remember how she loved to dance.
