Background
My Mom was a beacon of light and love to most everyone that she met. She remembered every birthday, anniversary, personal loss or major holiday with a thoughtful card or well wrapped, triple-taped gift. I'm sure she single-handedly kept the USPS in business. And she experienced depression throughout her entire life, along with anxiety in her later years. She struggled to find a therapist with whom she connected. As a retiree, she was also concerned about the cost of seeking support. The Loveland Foundation offers resources that addresses both of her concerns: "With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups, the Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls seeking therapy nationally".
