Charlotte, NC - Deborah Carol Babb Alamad, a beacon of humor, kindness, and unwavering strength, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina, due to medical complications from pneumonia. She was 64 years old.
Born on April 25, 1961, in Charlotte, Deborah remained a lifelong resident of her beloved hometown. A dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, her greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Alicia Nicole Alamad, and her cherished son, Jeramy Daniel Alamad, along with his wife, Brandi Alamad, and her grandson, Ray Cervantez. She also leaves behind her sister, Rhonda Babb McEntire, her brother, Roger Dean Babb, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will deeply miss her presence.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Stevenson Babb, her mother, Etheleen Campfield Babb, her sister, Rebecca Babb Corey, and her sister-in-law, Pamela Hall Babb.
Deborah was a proud graduate of Gaston College and carried her strong-willed spirit into every aspect of her life. She found immense pleasure in knitting and crafting, a passion she generously shared with others. For two decades, even from her bedside, Deborah knitted hats for the homeless, a testament to her profound compassion and selflessness.
She will be remembered not only as a loving mother but also as a tireless advocate for those suffering from illness, drawing from her own experiences to support and uplift others. Her kind heart and humorous spirit touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Memorial Service
A memorial service to celebrate Deborah's life will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Morris Chapel Church, 10601 Moores Chapel Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 4:00 PM at the church.
