Debi's obituary
Debi Lynn (Duncan) Mitilier died peacefully in her home on November 18, 2024, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. While this disease may have taken her physical body over the years, her mind, spirit, and devotion to her family never faded.
Debi was born in Omaha, NE, on March 18, 1951, the oldest of what she always called “Irish Twins.” She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Debi married her high school sweetheart, Terry Mitilier, on June 10, 1972. Together, they built a home for their two sons, Jared and David. Debi loved to travel and was an avid reader; she must have flipped tens of thousands of pages on her Kindle.
Debi is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Mitilier; her cherished sons, Jared (Vanessa) Mitilier and David Mitilier; her step-granddaughter, Sabrinah; and her precious granddaughter, Capri, who brought her immeasurable joy and happiness in the last two years of her life. She is also survived by her dear sister, Denise Dixon; her brother-in-law, Bill Dixon; their children and granddaughters; her stepbrother, Vince Breci; his daughter and grandson; along with a circle of friends and extended family who will miss her dearly.
Throughout her life, Debi faced the challenges of multiple sclerosis with grace, dignity, and remarkable fortitude that inspired everyone around her. Her deep faith was a guiding light, providing her with strength and hope during tough times.
Debi’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be remembered not just for the grace she showed in facing her struggles, but for the love she freely gave and the laughter she shared.
As we celebrate Debi's life, we invite friends and family to join us in honoring her memory on May 30, 2025, at 1 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 2218 Binney Street, with a celebration following at 4 PM at Blatt Bar, 610 No. 12th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Open Door Mission.
