Debbie Scarlata-Cameron
October 23, 1964 – June 20, 2025
Emerald Isle, NC
With profound love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Debbie Scarlata-Cameron on June 20, 2025, in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Born on October 23, 1964, in Selden, New York, Debbie was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her.
Debbie’s heart belonged to the coast—she found joy in the rhythm of the waves, beach walks, fishing, crabbing, and the sea creatures she adored most: turtles and octopuses. She also had a passion for collecting seashells, delighting in each unique treasure the tide brought in. Some of her happiest times were spent riding the golf cart around town and to the beach, with her beloved niece Brody by her side—often joined by family and friends for a breezy adventure filled with laughter and love.
Her creativity, fierce loyalty, and unwavering love for her family defined her life. She was selfless, gracious, deeply caring, and truly a force of nature.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Jimmy; her parents, Joseph and Barbara; her brothers, David and Michael, and Michael’s wife, Beth. She also leaves behind her treasured niece, Brody, and nephew, Bram—both of whom held a special place in her heart. Always by her side were her two devoted pups, Petie and Peanut, her faithful companions to the very end.
Debbie’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and deep connection to the natural world. She gave of herself endlessly and loved without limits. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
A celebration of her life will be held privately by the family. In her honor, please take a moment to walk barefoot on the beach, feel the sun on your face, and remember the beauty of a life lived with heart.
