Our family sadly lost Debbie Romance, on May 28 2022, from complications of COPD. She was a devoted wife, nana, and mother, and the glue that held her family together.

Debbie was born on January 25 1960 in Covina, California to Joan Bancroft and Kenneth Druce.  She was the sister of Susan Gansberger and Michael Allen Bancroft. Debbie spent many of her childhood years living on a military base “Treasure Island” near San Francisco where she enjoyed fishing off the docks and recalled being able to see Alcatraz from her bedroom window.  She was fiercely independent as a child and had an adventurous spirit throughout her life.

Debbie married Jim Romance on November 19, 1983. They were lifelong companions and rarely left each other’s sides.  Debbie was a loving and attentive mother to her three children. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandma (“nana”) to her seven grand babies. Debbie was creative and thoughtful; she was the kind of nana that would spend weeks sewing quilts for her grandkids’ baby dolls.  Debbie was a natural caregiver. She ran a childcare business out of her home so she could be with her children while they were young. She later became a CNA at a nursing home in Loveland, Co for many years. She then went back to school and worked hard to become a Medical Assistant. At the time, she was taking care of two teenagers and a household and still managed to graduate with all A’s. She was very intelligent and committed to achieving her goals.

Debbie devoted her life to her family, you could always find her either cooking, cleaning, or reading on the patio. She was always there when anyone needed her.  Debbie is survived by her Husband Jim, her three children; Dustin Romance and wife Mindy of Severence, Co, Ashley Romance of Fort Collins, Co, and Donald Bancroft and wife Hollie of Lakeside, Ca; and seven grandchildren; Destiny Syroka, Brandon and Emrie Bancroft, Melanie and James Long, and Steven and Hazel Romance. As well as her Sister Susan and brother Michael.  She is proceeded in death by her mother Joan, father Kenneth, and step-father Dave Bancroft.

A celebration of life will be held on July 13 at 5pm at a family’s residence in Fort Collins, Co.
