Lee's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deb “Lee” Riley Jr., who left this world surrounded by loved ones on April 15, 2023. Born in 1952, Lee lived an impactful and meaningful life filled with the love of his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished every moment he spent with those closest to him, especially the years he was called "Pappy."

Lee was a witty, sarcastic, and practical individual who always knew how to entertain others, usually by telling one of his masterful stories. He was a wonderful storyteller, never forgetting a detail and leaving his audience hanging on for what was coming next.

In his younger years, Lee worked hard to provide for his family. He was a self-taught skilled tradesman and there was nothing he couldn’t do or fix. His love for classic rock and old country greats could always be heard playing in the background of his life, while his fondness for word puzzles kept his sharp and inquisitive mind honed.

Lee was a man who loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was playing softball, hunting, fishing, riding the creek, or simply taking a walk in the woods. He was also an ardent dog lover and had several loyal companions that shared these outdoor adventures or happily curled up with Lee as he relaxed with one of his beloved classic movies or favorite shows on The History Channel. He could also be found regularly spending time with his grandchildren in the pool or teaching them about the important things in life.

Per his wishes, Lee’s family is hostng a Celebration of Life ceremony. The family invites you to drop in between 2:00 and 5:00 pm on  May 6, 2023 at 1126 S Wind Ln, Crystal Springs, MS. We will cherish the memories, laughter, and wisdom this “legendary man” shared with us all and carry his spirit with us as we continue to honor the legacy he leaves behind. The family requests casual attire and a good story to share.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Lee’s memory may contribute to the Education Fund for Lee’s Grandchildren at https://everloved.com/life-of…
