Dean's obituary
Dean Leroy Pearson, Jr., 61, of Albertville, MN, on January 10, 2023, passed peacefully from the arms of his loving wife Gail, into the arms of Jesus, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dean was born on March 24, 1961, to Dean LeRoy Pearson, Sr. and Theodelle Meta Kelly in Santa Ana, CA. After Dean graduated from Brooklyn Center High School in 1979, he pursued training in Computer Technology at Control Data Institute. After completion of his training, he worked in Emergency Power as a Field Engineer working on Transfer Switches with PMC Process Measurement. From PMC Dean went on to work for ASCO Services. ASCO then became J T Packard, which was purchased by Thomas & Betts, then ABB and finally M C Dean. Dean was knowledgeable in many aspects of emergency power from transfer switches to batteries and the UPS (uninterruptible power supply), Power Distribution units. Dean worked in Emergency Power until he became ill. Dean was passionate about his job and loved what he did for a living.
In 1976, he met Gail at the Family cabin on Farm Island Lake. Dean and Gail were joined in marriage in 1983. Dean and Gail went on to have two children, Christopher, and Andrea. The children were raised in Coon Rapids, MN. Dean enjoyed watching the children play soccer and was involved in Boy Scouts with Chris. He supported Gail’s and Andrea’s involvement with Girl Scouts. Dean always supported and encouraged his children in their interests and in pursuing their dreams. Dean loved being a Father and would have done anything for his children.
After the children were grown, Dean and Gail moved to Richmond, MN where Dean enjoyed their home on the Sauk River. Dean loved yardwork and spent many hours in the large, landscaped yard caring for the lawn and the many flowers he planted. Dean was very handy and could fix or build anything. Dean also enjoyed cooking and was known for his buttermilk pancakes and beer cheese soup. He enjoyed spending time boating on the Sauk River Chain of Lakes. Dean and Gail enjoyed traveling and often traveled with friends, making lifelong memories.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, sister Teresa, nephew Tony and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Dean is survived by Wife, Gail, Son Christopher (Becky), Daughter Andrea (Lauren) Inderbitzin, Sister Kim, Mother in-law Geraldine Stahn, Sister in-laws Debbie (Mike) Maschke, Darlene (Steve) Pederson, Patty (Gene) Rich, Sandy Olson, Tammy (Luke) Alger. 14 Nephews and Nieces, 16 Great Nephews and Nieces.
Services will be held at Washburn-McReavy, Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour before service. Internment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
