Dean's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dean Mangino, who departed this life on January 5, 2024. Born on February 27, 1963, Dean was a cherished member of our community and will be profoundly missed.
Dean was known for his vibrant spirit and sense of humor. A lover of music, he held a particular fondness for Van Halen, Rolling Stones, and Bob Seger. An adventure enthusiast, his favorite pastime was riding motorcycles, a pastime where he found freedom and joy. Dean had a special affinity for a well-mixed Bloody Mary, which played a feature role in many an enjoyable evening with friends and family.
Dean's love shone brightest when he was surrounded by his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He was always willing to share a laugh and create a welcoming atmosphere. His passing at the University of Chicago Hospital was one marked with love, as he was surrounded by those who loved him most.
Dean is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Mangino, his sons Dustin Martin and Ryan Daily, and his daughters, Nicole Braisher and Christina Lee. His memory will continue to live on through his grandchildren, Emmaly Martin, Zander Bisaillon, Allina Lee, Layla Martin, and Declan Martin. He is also survived by his siblings Michael Mangino, Sarah Young, and Will Smith.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jill Mangino, his son Brandon Mangino, his daughter Britni Martin, his son Victor Martin, and parent Ginger Mangino.
We will remember Dean as a beloved father, a devoted husband, a caring grandfather, and above all, a kindhearted individual. His presence in our lives will forever be missed and his spirit will continue to inspire us. We are comforted knowing that his love and laughter will continue to resonate in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
