It is with heavy hearts and sorrow that we announce the passing of Dayna "Diva Dayna" Garcia. Born on June 16, 1980, Dayna left us far too soon on October 11, 2023. Her vibrant personality, and contagious laughter are remembered fondly by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Dayna was a musician born in Bremerton then raised in Port Orchard, Washington. She was an alumni of South Kitsap High school, class of 1999 and a proud member of the exclusive "Highlighters" choir.  She toured the state as lead vocalist for the Dan Page Group, sang at the return of the Kalakala ferry in 1998, performed at the Roxy theater reopening, and rang out the national anthem at countless events. She eventually hung up her professional mic in exchange for lullabies when she started her family. 

Her heart was torn between her family in Washington and her family in Michigan, she spent a lot of her time moving from one place to another, but her heart always brought her back to her mother and her sisters in Washington. 

Dayna is survived by her spouse, Anthony Matthew Garcia. High school sweethearts, and together over 25 years. Dayna's life was made whole by the arrival of her 2 children, Anthony Thomas Garcia (Lauren Garcia) and Kaelyn Garcia, as well her "adopted"  son; Chance Aney. Dayna passed before she had the chance to meet her granddaughter, Sophia. Not to forget friends of her children she opened her home to. She was a mom to them all. 

Dayna had a strong bond with her extended family and leaves behind her parents Patricia Walton and Mike Bollinger (Sandy Harrison), siblings Stephanie Walker, Jennifer Chappell, Emily Boucher, Sarah Huskey, and too many nieces and nephews to name. She never said no when they asked if they could spend the night. 

Many nights she stayed up late, playing video games, cards (NERTZ!) ,singing and/or goofing off with her sisters. She enjoyed spending her days going for long drives, she loved road trips more than the average Golden Retriever. Forever a passenger princess, she never failed to be the first one to call "shotgun" much to the annoyance of her sisters. 

To her sisters, she was an accidental hamster killer, lead vocalist of the great Rockband™ group: ChaGaHa, co-producer/director of Bollingirl Productions and all around a great big sister. She had a sense of humor some would call immature, but was actually quite refined. Dayna laughed easily and long,to the point that everyone around her couldn't help but join in. Often laughing until she and others around her were in physical pain.

Dayna was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Julia Garcia, and her sister, Laura Bollinger.

Dayna has too many friends and cousins to name, but cherished all her relationships. Dayna was a beacon of positivity, resilience and strength. Her larger-than-life personality and warm heart will be sorely missed.

As we mourn the loss of Dayna, we also celebrate her life, filled with laughter, love, and an enduring dedication to her family. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.It is unfair that so much life can be taken away in an instant, she is truly irreplacable and the world is a darker place without her in it.
