Dawn's obituary
Dawn Suzanne Jennings, 57, passed away on February 3, 2025 in Henderson, Nevada after a sudden and brief illness.
She was born Dawn Suzanne Lavelle, but throughout her growing up and college years her friends and acquaintances all knew her as Dawn Christopherson.
Dawn was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and much more. She was born to Jim Lavelle and Arlene (Lavelle) Schlemlein
She is survived by her mother Arlene Schlemlein, sisters Tami Martin, Toni Kammers, Brenda Braden, nephews Andrew Martin and Ryan Pratt, aunt Dianna Wiese, uncle Dick Wiese, and all of her many cousins who meant so much to her.
Dawn grew up in Oregon, and lived in a number of places, including Hawaii, Florida, New York, and, finally, Nevada.
She was diligent and hard-working, and did her work conscientiously.
Her warm, outgoing personality drew people to her and made her a faithful and dear friend to many.
She was compassionate and empathetic to those around her, and could mourn with people she didn’t even know when tragedy struck in various places.
She was a big fan of professional rodeo, and she benefited from the National Finals Rodeo being located right near where she lived. She particularly loved the animal athletes – the horses and large, strong bulls!
We are comforted to know that Dawn made the most important decision of her life when she accepted Jesus’ offer of salvation. She is saved, and is in heaven right now, full of peace and joy, completely free of any physical or worldly difficulty.
We love her and she will be greatly missed.
Donations in her name can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which was also close to Dawn's heart (Click on “Give” beneath Dawn’s picture above).
